Why We Exist

Rural communities face unique challenges—limited access to healthcare, higher poverty rates, and fewer resources for addiction recovery.

SAIL Initiative was founded to bridge these gaps, bringing resources, partnerships, and innovation to communities that are too often left behind.

In Robeson County and other underserved regions, we’ve seen the profound impact that integrated addiction medicine and data-informed community programs can have. By connecting donors, local organizations, and evidence-based interventions, SAIL helps turn community compassion into sustainable change.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance sustainable, community-based public health initiatives that bring together medical, behavioral, and social resources to promote long-term recovery, wellness, and equity across rural North Carolina and beyond.

We believe that the solutions to rural health challenges already exist within the community—they simply need connection, support, and structure. SAIL Initiative exists to build those bridges.

How We Work

  • Identify local needs through data and community partnerships.
  • Fund innovative, evidence-based solutions that integrate care and recovery.
  • Measure outcomes transparently and report impact to donors and partners.
  • Share scalable models statewide to strengthen rural health systems.
SAIL Initiative  is a 501(c)(3) public charity and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
